Understanding the Clarity Stack: Mechanism of Action
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the ACTH(4-10) fragment. In rat hippocampus studies it regulated the expression of BDNF and its receptor TrkB[1], and in rat basal-forebrain studies it bound specifically and increased levels of BDNF protein[2] — the neurotrophin axis studied as an entry point into cognitive-signalling research.
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin. Its biological activity as a peptide anxiolytic has been characterised at the molecular level[3], and its administration affected the expression of genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission[4].
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is an essential cofactor for methionine synthase and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase; its role in one-carbon metabolism and the consequences of its deficiency have been comprehensively reviewed[5], and the redox-linked coordination chemistry directing its intracellular trafficking has been characterised[6].
